Music / i'm participating like an ilegal in this english class :D

Well, my favourite kind of music it’s not a particular kind of music. I really like to listen everything, because I think it's good to know about differents styles (You may give your opinion with arguments). Anyway, I preffer to listen pop music and rock music. Both are very differents: the first one, I like to listen it when I'm happy, or when I need to receive the energy (for example) to wake up in the morning. And the second one, rock music, I like to listen it when I want to say something. If I feel angry for any reason or when I want to “fight against the world”, I really enjoy it.

About pop music, my favourite singer is Pink. She’s a musician from USA, I like her songs (and my favourite is “Mr. President”; it talks about George Bush and Pink makes a critical for his acts, specially about the war), I like her style… I mean, ¡She’s so cool!. And about rock music, I preffer chilean rock music. My favourite band is Chancho en Piedra. I remember that I was 10 years old and I already listened them. I listen music from my computer… I don’t buy CDs, because in our country they’re very expensive. I download music for the Internet, although I know this action is ilegal, but I don’t sell them or buy pirats CDs.

However, I don’t have any music skills. I’m a frustrated bass player (Yes, I admit it. I always wanted to have a music band and play the bass, but my dream collapsed when I was 15 years old for problems with my family). But it’s not too bad, because I love to sing (yeah, I do it when I’m in the bus, in the shower, in my bedroom, in front of my computer, etc.), but I feel very ashamed if I have to do in front of people. I don’t really like karaokes… I’m very shy and I don’t know, I get so nervous.

I can’t live without music. It’s an amazing world who invites you to discover your emotions or your feelings. It’s a way to express yourself, maybe that’s the reason to gives music the importance that it has, because it’s associated with religion, beliefs, ways to see the world and many things related with emotional “part” of human.

Blogspots: another tool to have a better english

The use of technologies is very important, specially in education. Now, it's a need because quickly the world changes and we need to know how to addapt to this changes or we will be disconected of everything.

Actually, the use of internet and technologies is basic as a tool to improving and make better the education. The world give us many chances that we need to discover and also, the students and the teachers use them to do homeworks, to discuss with someone in China (for example), maybe to find information about different topics or maybe just for fun. And if you don't have Internet in your house, schools and universities have it. There aren't reason for not use this tools.

For english classes, the blogspot are very useful. On it, you can write and practise your writing habilities or reading comprehension too. This is a place for students to demostrate how they know. Also, the form of a blogspot are very simply, so, you don't have to receive a capacitation to learn how use it.

When you're a university student, you need to answer to many responsabilities. You have to change the switch very fast for a class to another one, but in the case of english, you have to to dedicate time but if you don't have enough to do your blogspot works, you can do it in your house. And for the teacher, it's more comfortable to review it. He can be in his house, listening music and reading the blogs of their students.

Another advantage of blogspots is they are more fun. You can make your blog with your style (well, if you know how to "pimp it") but, it doesn't matter, because here you can try to write the best as you can. You only need to be compromised with your learning.

Assignment 5

The last movie I saw in the cinema it's called "Tony Manero" (2008) directed by Pablo Larraín. He's a movie director (another famous movie it's "FUGA", with Benjamín Vicuña).

The main actor is Alfredo Castro, "Raúl Peralta" in the movie. The story begins when he goes to TV studio because he wants to take part in a contest of television. He represents "Tony Manero", (extracted from "Saturday Night Fever" with John Travolta). Alfredo Castro in his performance, thinks he is the chilean version of Tony Manero and he is obsessed with this movie. He is the fan that everyone wants to have.

But, his obsession is very complicated to understand. He kills people to get his aims. But the most peculiar of this, it's that his homicides are very ridiculous. This film is set in years of dictatorship in Santiago de Chile, when things were very expensive and exclusive. (This could be an explication of his crimes).

Finally, he goes to TV show, and there appears Enrique Maluenda, in the "Festival de la 1". This is clasical and everybody remembers the main phrase "Hola que tal... FESTIVAL!". He was the contestant more prepared, because he practiced the "original dance" (he knows every step,he saw "S.N.F" many times), but he didn't win.

I think this movie represents another kind of movies... something more 'vanguardist' (I don't know if it's correct this word)." Tony Manero "is a story about loss of identity and obsession in the recent history of Chile.

I want to qualify this movie with a: "INTERESTING", because as I say, it shows you a topic not usual and common.

Assignment 4

The only blog I know is of Fabiola because she is my friend, but, browsing on Internet, I found the blog of my english classmate, Lisette, a psychology student from Universidad de Chile.

I like her blogspot, because she has a design unusual, and... I don't know how to "pimp it". She has applications like "Sudoku" and "Horoscopo" and, "just to have fun", famous quotes. She has a picture with a baby (I think he is her child). Also, I like the "piece of art" that she selected, she did a good resume and I understand all the story of the sculpture. "The kiss" is a beautiful art work in my opinion. I think it represents a lot of feelings... a forbbiden love, pasion, etc.

I want to apologize with her because I'm writing about her blogspot and she doesn't know!!. Lisette, please forgive me.

I think it's a good blogspot: it is organized, easy to read, it has good assignments (I can know that SHE KNOWS english)... I can't critic this blog, because, really, I think it's very good.

Assignment 3: a work of art that you like

When I've free time, I like to listen music, to write poems and to see photos and paintings. But I prefer painting and photos, because I feel that both can transmit you many things or sometimes you discover your own meanings.

I want to show you, teacher, a picture that my old sister (Daniela Jofré) took long time ago (almost 2 years). She studies to be a journalist and she has "Photo" as a university class. This photo was took "casual", my sister walked for the streets and she found this conversation between 2 women and "Flash".

I selected one that really likes me. When I saw it for first time, I felt too much tenderness. Also, I dreamed about when I'll have my own baby and when I'll be mother. Haha, this is so special because sometimes I want to have a baby but... quickly, I destroy the idea. I'm so young, I have many projects and to be mother, complicates the situation.

I like it because it's a beautiful picture... It's simple, casual, normal... and it happens naturally. You only have to be alert to see many things hide in the city.

How you found this site? I did a Facebook on summer. My friend Isabel showed me the page (she was in USA and there this website was top and new).

How often you visit it? I visit this website daily. Everyday something new appears and it's really enjoy, well, I enjoy to visit this web. I know that it isn't an amazing website because now it's very popular and everybody has one, but I like it because I've found people of Llo-lleo (I lived there when I was 7 years old), I've met many people of others countries and also, it has many games that enjoy me a lot. The only problem is that you have to be registred to participe on web.
